Common Bay Harbor area birdsUnknown author’s bird photos and commentary Hurricane Harvey ArchiveOn Friday, August 25, Hurricane Harvey made its first landfall near Rockport, TX as a category 4. It made a second landfall at Copano Bay, stalled between Victoria and San Antonio, then returned to the gulf and strengthened again. It was on its way to a third landfall just west of Cameron, LA that Bay Harbor was most impacted in a thankfully mild way. The photo below was taken from a home on 7th St. looking toward the bay. Winds were clocked at a maximum of 59 mph in Bay Harbor. The few reports of damage included some siding blown off, a few boat docks nearest the bay damaged, a broken window, a walkway to an above boat dock deck separated from the house decking, and plants suffering from wind and water.
